As many of you know, the Mt. Carbon / N. Manhiem Twp. Fire Co.
Celebrated their 100th Anniversary in 2010. Below are some videos of the Parade.

 The Parade Starting at the Mt. Carbon Arch, and "Mystic Screen Printing" lot. Turning right onto Rt. 61 northbound towards Pottsville, PA. 

The Parade going through Palo Alto, PA. From the Pally Cut off of Rt. 61 N. heading towards Port Carbon, PA. 

After going through Port Carbon and Pottsville the Parade makes its final approach up Main St. here in Mt. Carbon.

OVERVIEW

           Over the past several months The Mt. Carbon / North Manheim Twp. Fire Co. held multiple fundraisers and raised a little over $10,000. We Thank all of our members that have made these fundraisers possible and all of our supporters who have donated to our causes.

         Some of the events have included; Multiple Dances entertained by "DJ Twisted," "DJ Krazy Kris" and Band - "Lazy Eye BoBo", Monthly Sub Sales, Lenten Dinners, Spaghetti Dinners, Boot Drives, Weekly NFL Football Pools, Block Shoot & Meat Wheel, and 1/2 Steer & Deep Freezer Give Away. EVENT   BREAKDOWN


In 2010 our 100th Anniversary
was broken down into Two Days of Celebration:

 

  • On March 6th 2010, We hosted our Formal “Kick-Off”  Banquet.  The Pottsville Republican & Herald was here to cover the event. <click here> This banquet was to celebrate the Fire Company’s Chartering Date of March 7, 1910. It was a formal Banquet style Dinner with Honored Guests; PA Senator David Argall, PA Representative Tim Seip, US Congressman Tim Holden, and a past member, now A Professional Fire Fighter, Mike Glore as our Guest Speaker. Dignitaries also included North Manheim Township Supervisors and a Man who has served our community for years that we still hold close and consider our own, Rev. Fr. Edward Connelly. Banquet Tickets included a Family Style Dinner, Refreshments, a Mural Unveiling, a Video Slide Show, and a formal dance after dinner. Doors Opened at 5:30pm,  Cocktail Hour was 6-7pm, Dinner & Speakers were 7-9pm. Dance was 9-12am. We thank Everyone who was able to make our celebration such a huge success. Everything went smoothly and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. Thank you all so Very Much!
    • In September 2010, We hosted our Parade & “Grand Event"  Celebration, consisting of a Lights & Siren Parade through Mt. Carbon, North Manheim Twp, and surrounding areas. At the closing of the Parade the Mount Carbon Fire Co. unvieled a Member Memorial Monument, which will includes a glass enclosure holding their 1st Fire Apparartus, a late 1800's Hose Cart, surrounded with custom engraved block pavers and marquees holding the names of all deceased and present members of our Fire Department from our founding in 1910-present. After the unvieling there was a 9/11 Memorial Service for our Fallen Fire Fighters, and loved ones we lost 9 years ago. The Ceremony was conducted by Rev. Edward B. Connelly & Honored Guest(s).  After the Service, it was time to Celebrate the Mt. Carbon / N. Manheim Twp. Fire Co. 100th Anniversary with a Block PartyThere was Loads of AMAZING FOOD available, adult games, children games, Live Entertainment by DJ Chuck Rock (1-7pm) and a local favorite band "Mixx" (7-11pm). The event was covered through a live broadcast by Magic 105.5, and the Sponsors making Magic 105.5 possible are; Stroker's Electric & General Contracting, Larry Moore, Schuylkill Photo Memories, and Mark Boyle Welding Services.  The Event was covered by the Pottsville Republican & Evening Herald and WNEP News Station. Trophies & Plaques were awarded for parade participants based upon judging.
