2011 - 2nd Annual
"End of SUMMER SPECTACULAR"
BLOCK PARTY, PARADE, & SERVICE
9/11 10yr Anniversary Memorial Service

This year's Block Party was a huge success, and we want to Thank Everyone who came to enjoy,
but most of all to support your local fire department.
PRIOR TO THE EVENT
This year took alot of planning, and during crunch time we became pretty frightened when looking at the news. Tropical Storm Lee was pounding the East Coast, and coming straight to Schuylkill County. While hurricane Katia was out by Bermuda, the Low front keep Tropical Storm Lee posted over our area for days with no sign of relief. Our Volunteer fire fighters were in Pine Grove helping out with the devastating tragedy that the flood waters were ruining and continuing to ruin for days on end. It was looking like almost 8 months of planning was down the tubes for our main event, and all the food, beverage and entertainment bookings were soon to be a huge loss for our nonprofit volunteer fire company.
After the flood waters settled Thursday evening, we had a ton of setup to do Friday morning 9/9/2011. With the help of many members and friends we pulled through and turned all of our planning into a successful weekend. We thank each and every one of you for coming to help support.
A THANKS TO OUR HELP!
Our members made some AMAZING homemade food and it was a huge part of this block party - we thank each and every one of you for all of you hard work and dedicated service. Your donations of supplies, friers, and time was greatly appreciated. You dedication and service were second to none and we couldn't have done it without anyone of you. It really goes to show all of the hard work that each of does really and truly means the most to keep this organization going!!
